Fool’s Gold, California may be a fictional setting, but 24 real life Susan Mallery fans are taking the town’s generous spirit beyond the pages of books this summer. By telling readers about the romance novels Just One Kiss, Two of a Kind, and Three Little Words, the “Fool’s Gold Cheerleaders” will win prizes for themselves and at the same time, raise money for their favorite charities. The Cheerleaders have collectively pledged $2,220 to the charities that mean the most to them, and Mallery has pledged an additional $5,000, which will be prorated according to the number of points each Cheerleader earns.
The Cheerleaders earn points for talking to people about Susan Mallery’s books, for handing out excerpt booklets, for placing bookmarks into copies of Just One Kiss, Two of a Kind, and Three Little Words, and other street team marketing activities. At predetermined points levels, the Cheerleaders win Fool’s Gold themed prizes from the author. Some of the Cheerleaders have been on the squad for three years now, since its inception.
The 2013 Fool’s Gold Cheerleader Charity Drive was inspired by Cheerleader Beccie W. of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Beccie told the group that if she reached her own personal points goal, she was going to make a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital in the name of a special little girl she knew. Mallery loved the idea and wanted to support Beccie’s generosity and to extend the offer to any other Cheerleaders with charities near to their hearts.

A Fools Gold Christmas

Fools Gold Christmas comes out this month and I was so lucky to get a signed copy from Susan Mallery for being the head cheerleader for 2011.  Being a Fools Gold Varsity Cheerleader is an amazing opportunity for friends, fun, reading and so much more.  I have met some awesome woman from cheering for Susan and Jenel.

Fools Gold Christmas is about Evie the baby sister of the Styker men.   Dante Jefferson the accountant who really doesn't want to be in the dumpy town of  Fools Gold.  This thought is reinforced when clog dancers pound away at the roof of his little office when he is trying to get some important work done.  He knows he will have to confront the instructor to get her to quite down the kids who couldn't hold a tune.  Evie is in Fools Gold against her wishes after a serious broken leg which led her bothers and mother to sneek her to Fools Gold while she was recovering form the cheerleading accident.  Her dreams of dancing are gone with the pain that she may never dance again.

Evie is given the impossible task of doing a Christmas winter festival, that means getting all the dancers to perform to the best they can even if she doesn't know the steps and also she has to find a horse she can train to be in the show.  She saunters to the Stryker farm looking for lessons and a killer stallion named Khatar walks up to her as Clay stands back in horror at what the mean stallion will do to the pint size dancer.  To his utter amazement Khatar acts like a gentle giant to Evie and she finds him very gentle and loving.  Not words Clay or any Stryker man or woman would use about Khatar.

Fall in love with these silly and lovable characters even Priscilla the big elephant and all her friends at the Stryker farm.

All Summer Long by Susan Mallery

Susan Mallery has done it again with a wonderful edition to the Fools Gold Series 9th book.  This is Clay and Charlie's story.  Clay is a infamous underwear model and Charlie is a tough firefighter who can do anything a man can do but better.   Clay is back in Fools Gold to be with family after the loss of a loved one and Charlie is coming down from her mothers arrival back in Fools Gold where she is the ugly duckling and her mother is a beautiful swan.  Charlie has a desire to have a baby but with a past she hasn't shared it might be impossible to over come the fear for a new baby in her life.  Clay finds Charlie his equal along with the fact she sees him as a man and not the gorgeous model he is.  He wants to be a volunteer fire fighter and Charlie and the crew think he is way out of his league.  Only by chance will they meet and wonder if life can start all over again.
